Elzac Ceramic Horse ~ Yellow Lucite Mane & Tail
Vintage 1940's ceramic figural horse pin was made by the California Pottery company Elzac. He stands just over 3", from the top of his lucite mane to his hooves. One piece of yellow lucite is applied to the back, producing a squiggly mane and tail. Felt and leather ear. Excellent condition. - $120
Hattie Carnegie Figural Green Elephant Howdah Pin
Unsigned Hattie Carnegie brooch pin features an elephant fitted with elaborate howdah seat and head decoration. These pins were made with different colored elephants, the body of which is a kind of resin, and is one of Carnegie's best known designs. Metal is goldtone; very textured and detailed, set with clear rhinestones and a faux pearl. 2 1/8" height, 2" width. Excellent condition. - $380

KJL for Avon Rams Head Necklace & Clamper Bracelet
Kenneth Jay Lane (KJL) for Avon rams head necklace and spring-loaded bracelet is a popular design, and this set is in wonderful condition. 32" necklace features two strands of black plastic beads and fluted goldtone metal spacer beads; two rams heads is the focal point and the clasp is hidden beneath. The heads are goldtone metal, very nicely detailed, with green rhinestone eyes and clear rhinestones set into the horns. Spring-loaded bracelet is solid metal with goldtone plating and textured surface; the rams heads are the same as the necklace. Both pieces are marked K.J.L. for Avon, and are in excellent condition with all rhinestones intact and no wear to plating. - $120

Outstanding JULIANA (DeLizza & Elster) figural lizard brooch is a sought-after design and becoming more difficult to find. Measuring 3 5/8" length, he is set with ruby red glass chatons, and numerous pinkish-red aurora borealis crystals. Dimensional construction, including sculptural wire feet and eyes. Shoestrings Ceramic Zooboloos Pink Moose Bolo Tie
Can you field-dress a moose? Or do you have "pink fuzzy" feelings toward ole Bullwinkle? This cute whimsical ceramic bolo slide tie necklace by Shoestrings for the sporty gal depicts a moose head against a white polka-dot on pink background. This was part of Shoestrings' Zooboloos line with various animals. Moose measures 3 3/8" wide, 2 1/4" height, with total cord length of 31". Very good condition apart from some mild surface crazing, which is fairly typical for these ceramic pieces.
Shoestrings was based in the Bay area and produced whimsical ceramic jewelry, probably around 1980s/90s. The look and style is very similar to Ruby Z, Flying Colors and Parrot Pearls lines, though I don't know if there was a connection. - $80
JOMAZ Goldtone & Rhinestone Figural Lion Pin (As Is)
Signed JOMAZ figural lion pin brooch is so cute! He has a harmless, almost cuddly look to him, with big forepaws splayed out in front, and wide appealing eyes. Face is set with clear rhinestones, and mane is done in an openwork metal style. 1 1/2" height. He looks to have been well-loved, with plating wear/loss to high points, such as the nose tip and mane ridges, but still has some wearable life left. Pinback mechanism is in good working condition, with locking clasp. - $10

What fun! This ceramic snake pin would be a wonderful ziggy-zaggy shape on your sweater or jacket -- or maybe even dress up a hat or tote bag. Stamped RUBY Z on reverse, this Southwestern style black and white pin measures a good 3 5/8". There are other jewelry items produced by Candace Loheed's Ruby Z company that fit into this theme, and in fact a group of jewelry with a similar look and theme was produced by Flying Colors around the same time (1980s/90s). Unusual carved wood figural pin, circa 1940s, is that of a giraffe head. Painted eye and mouth, leather ears and real fur mane. Love the carving to show off the long neck! This is bold and showy, measuring approximately 4". Plastic and metal pinback (pin is a bit tight). Ruby Z / Candace Loheed Ruffle Necked Lizard Necklace
Great fun! This ceramic party lizard necklace was made by San Francisco artist Candace Loheed under her Ruby Z label, circa 1980s/90s. A frilled neck lizard never looked so fine, with blue coloring and black polka dots, and a purple polka dotted ruffle around the neck. Tubular, rounded triangular and round beads in coordinating colors of pink, blue, white and black are securely strung on nylon filament. Lizard centerpiece measures 3 3/8" across, 3" height, and total necklace length is 19 1/2". Signature bead is located near metal screw-barrel clasp. Condition is excellent.
