This fabulous Venetian glass necklace is one of the best and most intricate we've seen, and what a fantastic piece for Springtime. Unusual molded glass roses are so intricately made, with tiers of petals and pastel hues of yellow, periwinkle blue, pink and white. Hand-blown glass birds are wired to the necklace, and also come in a variety of pastel hues (baby blue, pink, yellow, white). Translucent green glass veined leaves and mottled white/clear glass round beads complete the look. Length is 17 1/2", with a spring-ring clasp. Unmarked, but almost certainly from Italy. As is usually the case with these vintage items, there are some elements that are missing or broken (details follow), although there is still so much going on here that the casual observer will not notice. The birds and the roses are virtually intact, with one missing bird and one broken rose. There are approximately six leaves that have some breakage but could be removed if desired.
