FLYING COLORS Ceramic Carousel Animal Necklace
Vintage 1980s/90s ceramic necklace by FLYING COLORS features a carousel animal theme. There are four pastel colored horses, all with polka dots and decorated saddles, and one stripped tiger. Matching beads include pale pink tubes and pale blue rounds. This has been restrung at some point, with sturdy nylon filament and a metal screw-barrel clasp that is a replacement for the typical larger screw-barrel normally seen with these pieces. 21 1/4" approximate length; excellent condition. This is a breathtaking and romantic piece by FLYING COLORS, circa 1980's. Molded pink roses are attached to mint green hooks, accented with mint green cup-like leaves. Flying Colors Ceramic Safari Animals Necklace
One of my personal favorite designs produced by FLYING COLORS (circa 1980s), a whimsical ceramic bead necklace with five different African safari animals -- lion, tiger, elephant, spotted cheetah or leopard, zebra -- accented with leaves and handmade light brown beads. Each animal measures about 1 - 1 /2" wide, about 1" height, and is fused with a ceramic loop matching the same green shade of the leaf pendants. Beads are securely strung on nylon filament for security; necklace length is 17 1/2" with metal screw-barrel clasp closure. Flying Colors mark appears on the back of the elephant. What fun! Predominantly red ceramic round and tubular beaded necklace features seven crayon pendants in different colors, and matching complimentary round beads. Though unmarked, the construction suggest that this was most likely by either Flying Colors or Ruby Z / Candace Loheed. Crayons measure 1 3/4"; total necklace length is 18 1/4" with screw-barrel clasp closure. Beads are strung on secure nylon filament. Very good condition with just a few small fleabite nicks to the paint along the ridges of the beads -- not noticeable to the normal observer. - $140

Superb and unusual ceramic theme necklace from FLYING COLORS features the beloved counting rhyme "This Little Piggy Went to Market."

This piece is depicted in Ann Pitman's book Inside the Jewelry Box: Volume 3. All five pigs are represented, as well as the directional signs "Market" and "Home." (I love the stay-at-home piggy, who is reading "Hamlet.") The largest pig measures about 2" height, and the total length of the necklace is 18". Large irregularly shaped turquoise blue beads are strung on sturdy wire filament. Screw-barrel clasp closure. Mark appears on back of one of the pigs. Condition is excellent! - $400
